Pruritus ani (anal itching) is intolerable urge sometimes difficult to ignore and is embarrassing but you just can’t help it. It is a general problem but is most common in people who have diabetes mellitus or HIV. It is usually a temporary problem but it can be persistent that it becomes bothersome. The itching is due to irritation of the skin (caused by chemicals from the food we eat, including spices, hot sauce, peppers, coffee, milk products, tomatoes and tomato products, nuts, haemorrhoides, intestinal worms and skin disorders such as psoriasis) in the anal area. A change in lifestyle, especially diet is key to prevent anal itching. Cut back on foods that may irritate the skin such as spices, carbonated beverages and caffeine products. Avoid overuse of laxatives too, since stool residue may irritate the skin. Wear cotton underwear and loose clothing to allow sweat to evaporate. This helps keep the perianal area dry. Wearing tight clothing’s may trap moisture, which causes skin irritation

  Calculate your Body Mass Index
The body mass index (BMI) is a statistical measure of the weight of a person scaled according to height. BMI is calculated as the individual's body weight divided by the square of their height.

BMI is frequently used to assess how much an individual's body weight departs from what is normal or desirable for a person of his or her height. The excess weight or deficiency may, in part, be accounted for by body fat although other factors such as muscularity also affect BMI.
