Nux
 vomica 

Alcohol does not really help us with sleep, in fact it disturbs our sleep pattern in the long run. If you are taking it for fixing your sleeping problem please stay away from it. It is your addicted brain making you find excuses to drink.

Morning vomiting, trembling of hands, nervous affections, bad taste in mouth, headache. Constant uneasiness and troublesome visions.

Hyosciamus
When there is a constant loquacious delirium, small, quick and compressible pulse, cold and clammy skin ; delirium tremens.


Opium
in Mania-a-Potu, or Delirium Tremens
In old " sinners " whose constitution is a wreck and who have had repeated attacks of the disease.

There is a constant expression of fright or terror ; they have visions of animals springing up everywhere, see ghosts, and sleep is disturbed ; breathing is stertorous ; it is especially applicable to those cases which simulate apoplexy.


Lachesis mutus
Blood is dark-colored and does not coagulate. Disposition to melancholia and indolence. Persons with dark eyes and dark complexions. Visions of snakes and hideous objects ; sensation in throat as if choking ; waking suddenly out of sleep.

Ascites of drunkards. Suppurating wounds / abscesses which threaten to become gangrenous. Effects of sunstroke, especially if the person is in the habit of using alcoholic stimulants, particularly if the face is dark red and limbs cold. Mental alienation; thinks that she is not at home, or thinks that there are robbers in the house and tries to escape, great aggravation from alcoholic drinks. Threatening apoplexy, especially in drunkards. It is a valuable remedy for the gastric of drunkards, and for weakened digestion after Mercury. Tendency to ecchymoses, to bed-sores. Carbuncles. Varicose ulcers.
The complaints of the Lach. are mostly on l. side, nearly always < sleep, so that the patient is awakened by distress.


Stramonium 
has visions of animals approaching him from every corner ; tries to escape ; bright red face.


Arsenicum
 :Visions of ghosts and fanciful figures with trembling and weakness ; diseased from over-use of alcohol ; must have their accustomed drink.


Ranunculus
bulbosus
has been found to exert a beneficial effect on the maniacal attacks of drunkards.


Sulphuric
Acid in Alcoholism

Inebriates who are on their " last legs ;" they are pale, shriveled and cold, and their stomachs will not tolerate the slightest amount of food ; cannot drink water unless it contains whiskey.

Their manner is quick and hasty in everything.

It comes in long after 
Nux vomica.

Great craving for brandy.


Sulfur,
Nux vom. and Arsenicum
have been used successfully in combating the craving for spirituous liquors .


Apocynum cannabinum

Mitral and tricuspid regurgitation. Acute alcoholism. Tricuspid regurgitation; rapid and feeble, irregular cardiac action, low arterial tension, pulsating jugulars, general cyanosis and general dropsy.Tincture (ten drops three times daily) and in acute alcoholism 1 dram of decoction in 4 oz water.


Kali bichromicum

Dyspepsia; especially associated with nausea and vomiting; nausea and vomiting of drunkards; nausea and vomiting, with ulceration of the stomach; with soreness in a small spot in the stomach.Dyspepsia resulting from malt liquors, with flatulency, oppression after eating, nausea and vomiting of mucus.Frequently a valuable remedy when the face is blotched, or when there is more or less indigestion and the face covered with pimples or acne.
